“ The food here is great! You can select one or two broths at a time, which is a major win. They are generous with the toppings and I love the all you can eat option. The place is pretty casual, and despite this being a chain, it is often pretty busy. If you're not over-full at the end, you can even get icecream. Due to the busy nature the service can leave a lot to be desired. We've been kicked out before at the very last minute for going over the time at the table (they didn't tell us in advance). They took a while to get us our additional rounds (and there were 4 of us eating so we were moving through food) which made it frustrating. You can get the same food with better service at the Lincoln Park location. ”

“ If I could count how many times I've been to Happy Lamb, I'd probably lose track--it's that good. They recently relocated slightly north of their old spot, and the new location is a definite upgrade. It's less cramped, which makes for a much better dining experience. They've added a premium menu with more lamb and beef options, which is a nice touch. You can choose to go all-in with one, two, or even three broths at once. The sliced meat is still ordered through the server, but everything else--seafood, tofu, veggies, sauces--is self-serve now. Honestly, I love this setup. It's way more convenient than having to flag down the server every five minutes. Oh, and free soda is included, which is just the cherry on top. For me, Happy Lamb is hands-down the best spot for AYCE hot pot in Chicago. The value is unbeatable, and they've nailed the experience. Always a win here! And don't forget to grab dessert! I totally spaced on it until we were already walking out lol ”

“ Loved Happy Lamb! It's been on my list of places to eat, and it didn't disappoint! The wait list at the time I checked in was long, but the wait was worth it. They have open refrigerators with plenty of options to choose from, from veggies to seafood. The broth was loaded with the seasonings which overall was very satisfying. Excellent selection of meats, especially lamb, and they do not skimp out on the meats either! Only gripe was selection of sauces and oils, but it worked out okay. Service was overall decent. There is a 90 minute limit on eating there, which given how busy it can get is justifiable. "Free" ice cream as well at the end of you meal. Absolutely would recommend this place and I will for sure be back again. ”

“ Updated review: The new changes I think are phenomenal. Being able to pick as many veggies / seafood as you want was a great idea and the updated meat choices were a pleasant surprise. The broth for the half/half was delicious as always and really flavorful without over powering the taste of the meat. They also added more dipping sauces to mix! I've only had one bad experience here but the service and ambiance have always been great. Favorite hot pot place on wentworth for sure! ”

As someone who doesn't eat beef or pork, I was thrilled to find so many ingredients to choose from that suited my dietary needs. The only small downside was that they didn't offer a chicken-only broth - all the broths had a beef base, so I opted for the vegetarian broth. It's essentially water with seasoning, but once I added a bit more salt and spice, it turned out great! The flavor was absolutely satisfying. The customer service was exceptional as well. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, with a fun, kid-friendly vibe and street parking available nearby. The music was spot-on too - not sure who the DJ was, but they set the perfect mood for a memorable dining experience.
